Fabory Quality Control once again receives the A2LA certificate

01-05-2022

For the next two years, Fabory Quality Control will once again be proud to be ISO/IEC 17025 certified. With the renewed accreditation by A2LA (American Association for Laboratory Accreditation), Fabory shows how the company handles product quality and distinguishes itself from the competition.

The audit took place in March. The accreditation is renewed according to the international standard for laboratory quality systems ISO/IEC 17025. These specify the requirements and competencies that the quality system and the staff of testing and calibration laboratories must meet. The ISO standard contains more than three hundred criteria.

Assessing quality system and employees

For example, A2LA assesses the documentation of the laboratory's quality system. This also applies to the validation of the various test methods and the professional knowledge, skills and objectivity of employees. Furthermore, all calibration and maintenance data are checked for each test method.

Employees must demonstrate each test method during the audit. Each stage of a test is assessed by the auditor against the applicable standard. In addition, for each test method, the results of the quarterly interlaboratory studies are assessed. The statistical analysis of the performance of the various employees in these surveys must demonstrate the constant level of quality.

The renewed accreditation is valid for two years, until March 31, 2024. In the intervening year, Fabory Laboratory provides documentation that A2LA evaluates. In addition, A2LA reviews the interlaboratory test results quarterly.
