Fasteners for every industry

The Fabory range continues to grow. With a wide and deep range of fasteners, we provide customers with items from different product categories in many variants. When there is a need for adjustment or expansion, new fasteners are added to the more than 120,000 fasteners that are already in the range.

Keeping assortment relevant: a continuous process

After our start in 1947, a broad customer base arose. We like to hear the stories of our customers: this is how we get to know the challenges they face. These challenges show where further development and expansion of the range are needed. Our customers come from different industries we therefore need to keep updating specific industry knowledge. This translates into our range: industry-specific knowledge enriches the Fabory range of products and keeps it relevant.

An industry-specific approach meets customer needs. These could be customers from the machine-building industry who focus on the food industry. Or customers from the Semiconductor & Medical industry. Other examples of sectors in which we specify the Fabory range are the Truck, Trailer & Coachbuilding, Petrochemistry and the Energy sector.

We highlight two sectors for you:

  • Truck, Trailer & Coachbuilding
  • Machinery for the food industry
Knapen Fasteners for Truck & Trailer Building

Truck, Trailer & Coach building

The Truck, Trailer & Coach building industry has been an crucial industry for Fabory for decades. As a customer in this sector, we now also serve you on the basis of a stock principle.

These are the most frequently ordered fasteners from the Fabory range by customers in this industry:

We have already supplied you as a customer with steel nuts, but we can supply steel nuts with a zinc flake surface coating is a good example of industry-specific work. The need for this product was increasing and because production in the Truck, Trailer & Coach building industry must never stagnate, Fabory supplies 2,000 articles in zinc flake from stock. Where other zinc layers often become too thick, the zinc flake coating has a thin layer thickness with a high corrosion resistance.

Trailer manufacturer

Knapen Trailers from Deurne in Brabant uses 60 unique zinc flake fasteners from Fabory. On the shop floor of the producer of moving floor trailers, employees reach for many thousands of Fabory articles with a zinc flake treatment every week. Johan van Hommelen, a strategic purchaser at Knapen Trailers, explains that the corrosion resistance of the fasteners is an crucial factor for the company. “Our trailers, and therefore also the fastening materials used, are exposed to wind and weather year after year. The influence of the weather on the materials is significant.”

Hundreds of zinc flake fasteners disappear in every trailer: the chassis, the floor frame, the superstructure and various trailer components. The stock management of the zinc flake fasteners remains stable thanks to an RFID solution. “The complete ordering process, including that of the zinc flake fasteners, is taken care of”

Blind Riveting

Blind riveting is a commonly used fastening technique within the Truck, Trailer & Coachbuilding industry. A solution used in almost every bus, truck or trailer. The front to the back and everything in-between the cab, seats, chassis, roof rails, safety structures, floor systems and more.

Depending on the application, a standard blind rivet or blind rivet nut can get the job done. For the more critical applications in this industry, Fabory has structural blind rivets and lockbolts available for you, among other things.

Machinery for the food industry

In the Food Industry industry, customers need to be able to work efficiently with fasteners that comply with strict laws and regulations. The corrosion-resistance of the material makes stainless steel fasteners ideal in this industry, where hygiene is paramount. The stainless steel tap bolt is a commonly used fastener with the hexagon nut.

When using stainless steel fasteners, often the inner and outer threads get stuck together and the fastener can no longer be loosened. Producers in the food industry sector often prevent this cold welding (settling) of stainless steel material by using an assembly paste. Unfortunately, there are drawbacks to this: assembly takes extra time and workpieces and hands must be cleaned after use. We found a solution especially for this industry: a pre-applied lubrication that prevents the screw thread from seizing. The Fabory Lubrinox fasteners are bolts, nuts and screws made of stainless steel with a specially developed coating that provides durable lubrication in the threaded connection. Here are the biggest benefits:

  • It prevents galling of stainless steel bolt connections
  • The Lubrinox coating is approved for use in the food industry
  • The coating has already been applied at Fabory before use. That saves time
  • Lubrinox is also available for nuts
  • The articles retain their stainless steel appearance
  • Lubrinox bolts and screws work great in combination with Loctite
  • Dirty hands from manual lubrication are a thing of the past
  • Less error-prone

Stainless steel fasteners go in the Counterflow Cooler Plus

Manufacturer of coolers and dryers

The design and production company Geelen Counterflow from Haelen is one of the companies allowed to take the lead in testing Lubrinox. The fasteners provided with lubrication disappear in coolers and dryers for the food industry. Several copies of these coolers and dryers are sent out at Geelen Counterflow weekly. They leave for places all over the world.

Due to the intensive use of stainless steel fasteners, the company was looking for a cost-effective alternative to lubrication on bolts. René Derckx, the technical purchaser at Geelen Counterflow: "We were curious whether the solution devised by Fabory would also meet our wishes. The main premise was that threads do not get stuck. You don't want to have to cut or drill out a screw."

Another coating that employees use in the workplace is a lot thicker. Fabory's Lubrinox fasteners do not need such a thick layer. "A thick layer makes it more difficult to drive screws by hand. They get very greasy. If you need to use force, slide your fingers over the hex. You do not have that with Lubrinox. The reactions on the shop floor are positive during this test"

Industries we support

In addition to the extensive and specified range, customers from the various industries are supported with logistics solutions and technical advice and research. Fabory supplies specific fasteners to, among others, the sectors below:

If you cannot find a fastener, we will ensure that it can still be delivered. If another manufacturer does not have the item or if it is a non-existing item, we design it ourselves or have it made.
