Washers are small, flat rings with various functions. A washer is often used with a bolt-nut connection to increase the surface area of the contact surface. There are also versions with a larger diameter than the standard DIN 9021. This large diameter mainly distributes the clamping force over a larger area so that the clamped material deforms less easily.
A washer is not loaded on tensile strength. Therefore, the washer has a hardness instead of tensile strength. The hardness indicates how easily the material deforms. There are versions with and without chamfers. The chamfer reduces the chance of imprinting in the material during assembly.
The washer comes in many types and sizes. We offer various HV (Vickers hardness) for the washers. Fabory also has stainless steel washers in its range for when corrosion resistance is essential to your considerations. The DIN 125 comes in two variants: the DIN 125A (without chamfer) and the DIN 125B (with chamfer).
In terms of surface treatments, we offer an extensive choice. Some options include plain steel, hot-dip galvanised, and electrolytically galvanised washers. The electrolytically galvanised washer has, among others, yellow and black passivation as an option.
